Michael Peter Aldrete, born January 29, 1961, is an American former professional baseball outfielder/first baseman and current coach. He is currently the Oakland Athletics’ first base coach in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Aldrete has been a professional baseball coach since 2001. After spending three years as a minor in the Arizona Diamondbacks, Aldrete was promoted to first base coach with the Seattle Mariners (2004). He also served as the Diamondbacks’ hitting coach (2005-06). Aldrete was the Cardinals’ bench coach and served as the assistant hitting coach since 2008. Aldrete was the bench coach for the Cardinals from 2008 to October 27, 2014.
Aldrete’s 1987 best season was a career-high.325 with 51 RBI (runs batted in), 50 runs and 116 hits.
