Carmine Rojas is an American bass guitarist, musical director, and composer. He is best known for his work with David Bowie, Rod Stewart, and Tina Turner. He has also worked with other artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Eric Clapton. Rojas was born in Brooklyn, New York, and began playing bass at the age of 12. He attended the High School of Music and Art in Manhattan, and later studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Rojas has been a member of the David Bowie band since 1983, and has appeared on several of Bowie's albums, including Let's Dance, Tonight, and Never Let Me Down. He has also toured with Bowie, and was a part of the band's performance at Live Aid in 1985. Rojas has also worked with Rod Stewart, appearing on his albums Out of Order and Vagabond Heart. He has also worked with Tina Turner, appearing on her albums Foreign Affair and Wildest Dreams. Rojas has also worked with Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Eric Clapton. In support of the album the band performed throughout the west coast, appearing at the Whole Earth Festival in April 2002. The 2002 Putamayo World Music compilation Regueton, the Ziroq track "Que Peña," peaked at #11 on the Tropical/Salsa chart at Billboard.
